Tractor Driving Experience in Penzance

PENZANCE · CORNWALL

St Buryan Farm is the Penzance-area tractor-driving venue, with two current ways to get behind the wheel.

Choose the full 60-minute solo experience if the tractor is all yours, or the two hour Double Trouble if this is one of those occasions where somebody else has absolutely no intention of being left out.

The venue sits in the farmland of far west Cornwall, beyond Penzance and close to the Land’s End side of the county — surroundings in which a large agricultural tractor requires very little explanation.

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE DAY?

From Arrival to
Your Turn at the Wheel

The Penzance experience starts with the welcome, safety briefing and familiarisation before the driving begins. Once you have been shown the essentials, it is your turn at the controls.

St Buryan currently gives you two choices: a 60-minute solo drive, or the two-person Double Trouble experience. The booking is different; the important bit is the same — you are there to drive.

01

Arrive & Get Briefed

Meet the instructor, get welcomed in and go through the safety briefing before the driving starts.

02

Meet the Tractor

Get shown around the modern agricultural tractor and the controls you will need before you start driving.

03

Take the Controls

This is the important bit. Once the briefing and familiarisation are complete, you get behind the wheel and drive the tractor yourself.

04

Get Stuck In

From there, the experience is about getting comfortable with the machine and making the most of the time included in the option you have chosen.

Real tractor. Real driving. Mud entirely possible.
YES, YOU REALLY DRIVE IT

This Isn’t a Tractor Ride

You’re not climbing aboard to watch somebody else demonstrate the machinery. After the welcome, safety briefing and familiarisation, you take the controls.

At St Buryan, the current experiences use a modern agricultural tractor with instruction before the driving begins. You are shown the cab and the controls first, so your own turn at the wheel starts with a proper introduction to the machine.

The choice here is unusually simple. Take the 60-minute experience if you want the tractor to yourself, or choose Double Trouble if driving one is an enthusiasm best shared with somebody else.

DRIVING DECISION GUIDE

Which Penzance Tractor Experience Should You Choose?

Penzance has only two current choices, which makes this less of a comparison exercise and more of a question: are you driving solo, or bringing somebody else into the plan?

THE LOCATION

Tractor Driving at St Buryan Farm

St Buryan Farm places the experience firmly in far west Cornwall, outside Penzance and in the rural part of the county heading towards Land’s End.

That makes it a particularly useful option if you are based around Penzance, Newlyn, St Just or the western end of Cornwall and would rather not travel back towards St Ives for your tractor fix.

There is no need to oversell the scenery. The setting simply makes sense: proper Cornish farmland, a modern agricultural tractor, and you arriving to drive it.
