Tractor Driving Experience in Buxton
Moor Grange Farm is the Derbyshire tractor-driving venue for Buxton and the Peak District, with all four current experience choices available here.
You can start with 30 minutes at the controls, move up to a full hour, take the two-hour solo option, or choose the two-person experience if somebody else has designs on the driver’s seat too.
The venue sits in proper Peak District countryside between Buxton and Bakewell, so the setting feels every bit as agricultural as the machine you have come to drive.
From Arrival to
Your Turn at the Wheel
You arrive, meet the instructor, go through the safety briefing and get familiar with the tractor before the driving starts. Then it is your turn to take the controls.
Buxton currently offers 30-minute, 60-minute and two-hour solo experiences, plus a two-person option. The amount of time changes; the basic route from briefing to driving does not.
Arrive & Get Briefed
Meet the instructor, get welcomed in and go through the safety briefing before you get anywhere near the controls.
Meet the Tractor
Get shown around the modern agricultural tractor and the controls you will need before you start driving.
Take the Controls
This is the important bit. Once the briefing and familiarisation are done, you get behind the wheel and drive the tractor yourself.
Get Stuck In
Once the basics are covered, the rest of the session is about getting comfortable with the machine and making the most of the tractor time.
This Isn’t a Tractor Ride
You’re not climbing aboard to watch somebody else demonstrate the machinery. After the welcome, safety briefing and familiarisation, you take the controls.
At Moor Grange, the current solo experiences use a modern agricultural tractor with one-to-one instruction. You are shown the cab and controls before you start, so the driving begins with a proper introduction to the machine rather than guesswork.
The only real decision is how much time you want with it: 30 minutes for a first proper go, 60 minutes to settle in for longer, two hours for the fullest solo session, or the two-person option if the tractor enthusiasm is shared.
Which Buxton Tractor Experience Should You Choose?
Moor Grange gives you the full range, so this really comes down to how long you want at the controls — and whether you are keeping the tractor to yourself.
“I have no idea what I’m doing, but I’ve always wanted to drive a tractor. What could go wrong?”
“Thirty minutes sounds suspiciously sensible. I want enough time to work those levers and show the world my skills.”
“I have waited long enough. Give me the tractor, point me at the controls and clear the area!”
“We came together. We’re both driving. The tractor will just have to cope. Or not.”
A Surprisingly Easy Gift Decision
If someone in your life has ever stopped mid-conversation because a particularly impressive tractor has gone past, you may already have enough information.
Open-dated vouchers are available, so the recipient can arrange the driving date later. You simply have to decide how much tractor seems appropriate.

Tractor Driving at Moor Grange Farm
Moor Grange Farm is at Taddington Barns on Moor Lane, in rural Peak District countryside roughly six miles from both Buxton and Bakewell.
The wider Moor Grange estate covers around ten acres and sits at an elevation of roughly 1,400 feet, giving the experience a genuinely rural Derbyshire setting rather than an improvised driving area on the edge of town.
If Buxton, Bakewell or the central Peak District is your practical area, this is the current Derbyshire tractor-driving venue to look at. The surroundings are a bonus; the reason to come is still the large green machine waiting for you at the other end.
