You will be introduced to the machine and its controls before taking your own supervised turn at the wheel. The driving takes place around a purpose built course, giving you the chance to get used to the scale of the tractor, make turns, control your speed and tackle reversing rather than simply trundling forwards in a straight line.
That is really the appeal of the 30 minute experience. You do not need to arrive knowing anything about tractors. You just need to have spent long enough thinking, I would love to drive one of those.

Do I actually drive the tractor myself?
Yes. After the introduction, safety briefing and familiarisation, you take the controls and drive under instruction.
Is 30 minutes suitable for a complete beginner?
Yes. Tractor Explorer is the entry point into the current range and no previous tractor driving experience is expected.
How long should I allow for the whole visit?
The driving element is 30 minutes. Allow around an hour for the overall visit so there is time for arrival, briefing and familiarisation around the driving itself.
How old do you have to be?
The current minimum age is 13.
Can family or friends come along?
Spectators are welcomed on the current solo experiences and may take photographs. Check the final joining information for venue specific arrangements.
When does Tractor Explorer run?
The current operating season runs on selected dates from April to October, subject to availability.
Can I buy this as a gift?
Yes. Open dated vouchers are available and are currently valid for 12 months, so the recipient can arrange the actual driving date later.
What if I want longer than 30 minutes?
The current range also includes 60 minute and 2 hour solo experiences, plus a separate 2 hour experience for two.
